Academic Essentials: Scholars get homework help and learn academic strategies that support learning in the classroom.
Visual Art: This club is designed for scholars to explore and develop their creative and artistic skills while exploring different mediums/aspects of art and design. Finished works of art will be highlighted during the year and part of our larger culminating art gallery exhibition.
Robotics / Programming: A club designed to introduce scholars to the fascinating and technical world of robotics by connecting the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts used in modern manufacturing. Scholars will program robots through the use of software and will learn and build leadership skills, communication skills and teamwork.
Girl Scouts: The five essential skills girls learn through the cookie program are goal setting, money management, people skills, decision making, and business ethics. Girl Scouts contributes to girls' academic success by helping them develop important leadership skills, such as resourceful problem solving and challenge seeking. Additional activities in Girl Scouts include activities outdoors and community service projects. Girls learn to become leaders, while building courage, confidence and character.
Cub Scouting (co-ed): Cub Scouts is structured around earning badges and badges activities are centered around earning badges that are specific to each school grade level. Each badge represents a rank. Based on different topics such as hiking, nature, science, citizenship, first aid, sports, and more, adventures are earned as a Cub Scout advances toward their badge of rank. Once an adventure is completed, a Cub Scout receives recognition in the form of an adventure loop or adventure pin.
Dream Starters: is a creative arts-based program, offered through Brandon House Cultural and Performing Arts Center, that exposes students to arts-infused learning experiences to improve writing, reading comprehension, verbal expression, science, and math. Activities in Dream Starters include Talent/Fashion Shows, Music Production Projects, Theatrical Stage Plays, Literary Arts competitions, Arts-Based Field Trips, and Hispanic/Black History Events.
Scripps Spelling Bee Team: this club fosters a love of words and competition! Our team is multi age and competes at the school level, city level and beyond! We also participate in the official Bee’s Bookshelf Book Club to promote a love of reading and exploration in the wonderful world of words.
Science Club: A meeting of scientific minds to explore how things work in physical and life science realms. This club gives students a basic framework to be ready to be a future Science Olympiad.
Basketball (co-ed) / Intramural Team:
a fall sport open to both boys and girls. Generally,
the season runs from November to March.
Physical activity helps to improve motor
coordination, flexibility, and endurance at all
age levels. It also encourages speed, agility,
and strength. These skills are shown to
positively affect promoting a healthy body
weight and encouraging more physical
activity, which can enhance cardiorespiratory
fitness and self-esteem.

Generally, the season runs from January to
April. This sport builds and encourages
speed, agility, and strength and healthy
competitive spirit.

Soccer (boys and girls): this spring sport has
both a girls’ and boys’ team. Tryouts are
generally held in March and athletes will play
until May. Teams play competitively against
other league teams.

Cheer: This co-ed team combines elements
of dance and gymnastics with shouting
slogans to encourage our teams and elevate
our crowd! Team tryouts occur in the fall
each year.
